A Belarusian woman posted a video on TikTok about how she donated 900 rubles to treat a child’s teeth and was shocked by the cost. Some commentators were also surprised by the price, while others believed that the girl did not reveal all the nuances of the treatment.
“900 Belarusian rubles for the treatment of a teenager’s (14-year-old) tooth – is this normal? Maybe I don’t work there? I can’t understand, 900 Belarusian rubles for a tooth, no guarantees,” the author says in the video.
“This is not normal, the structure should have been checked long ago,” one commentator wrote under the video.
“Where did you find such prices? State clinics are free. Private ones – about 130-140 rubles. Apparently you didn’t tell me anything,” suggested another. A third also said that she had to pay 130-180 rubles for one tooth in a private clinic.
Another TikTok user said: “Most Belarusians are shocked by the fact that salaries are 600-1,000 rubles.”
Someone wrote that the cost of a root canal is “about 200 rubles”; if a tooth has 3 root canals and needs a filling, it will cost about this much.
“This is not normal. I had a jaw surgery and it cost 500. Please call the hotline to contact the Ministry of Health,” the commentator advised.
In the following comments, by the way, the author of the video said that “teeth are complicated and need to be handled under a microscope.” “There is your answer,” the TikTok user wrote below.
Another commentator claimed that he had a four-hour treatment on a “complex tooth” under a microscope in Minsk and paid 1,500 rubles.
“Treatment with a microscope is very expensive. I found out that they don’t offer guarantees. Not everyone who pays gets this treatment; there is no microscope,” shared another user.
Telegraf.news previously reported that the Belarusian Ministry of Health announced new maximum tariffs for dental services, which will come into effect on July 1, 2024. According to the information of the ministry’s resolution, the prices of some services in the entire dentistry field (from treatment to surgery) have changed.
For example, the tariff on filling a root canal with paste fell by 18% (from 11.58 rubles to 9.42 rubles).
