In the bronze medal match, the Croatian player defeated Turkey’s representative Merva Dinsert 2-0.

As a reminder, Stojkovic lost 2-0 to Panipak Wongpattanakit of Thailand in the semifinals of the 49 kg category.

Earlier today, she defeated Canada’s Josip Kafadar in the first round and defeated Tunisia’s Ikram Daheri in the quarterfinals.

Thus, Lina Stojkovic won a total of six medals for Croatia at these Olympics, behind shooter Milan Maricic, rowing brother Sinkovic, judoka Barbara Matic, tennis player Donna Veitch and discus thrower Sandra Elkacevic.

There are high hopes for Stojkovic at the Olympics. She is a three-time European champion and two-time world champion in the under-46 kg category. She won European gold in 2021, 2022 and this year, and won the world championship in 2022 and 2023. She was named the best athlete from Croatia in the Croatian Olympic Committee selection for two consecutive years.

Croatia has won five medals in Olympic taekwondo so far, with Martina Zubčić (2008 bronze), Sandra Saric (2008 bronze), Lucia Zaninović (2012 bronze), Mateja Jelic (2021 gold) and Toni Kanaet (2021 bronze).

Stojkovic dominated the 46kg category at world and European level, but at the Olympics the limit was raised by 3kg. Stojkovic was a member of the Marjan Taekwondo Club in Split, where she was born.
