Congratulations to Daniel Wiffen and Jack McMillan on their gold medals.

Born in the UK and raised in Northern Ireland, Wiffen is also a new Olympic record holder and has won multiple medals representing Ireland and Northern Ireland…

“I’m happy to say that I’ve made very good progress in my swimming,” he added.

“We went from 14th at the last Olympics, to being in the final of the World Championships, winning a Commonwealth medal, fourth at the World Championships, three-time European champions, world record, double world champions and now Olympic champions.

Jack McMillan has represented Ireland at previous Olympics and was selected for the British team in Paris…

McMillan’s performance was perfect, in fact he swam faster than Tokyo individual 200m freestyle champion Tom Dean.

“The atmosphere was just incredible, just incredible,” McMillan recalled.

“This is my first time playing for Team GB at the Olympics so I’m really proud to be here and of course proud of the team.”
