(Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke today and expressed their willingness to support a Venezuelan-led process to reestablish democratic norms, the State Department said.
The statement said the two expressed concern for the safety and well-being of opposition leaders. Both challenger Edmundo González and President Nicolas Maduro claimed victory in the July 29 election.
