Prince Masikwamale Zulu, a famous prince of the Zulu family, spoke highly of Umtheso’s role in promoting peace and regional integration in African countries.
The Ngoni of the Jere family celebrated the Umthetho ceremony at the foot of the Hora Mountain. Prince Masikwamale Zulu addressed the large crowd gathered at the ceremony and said he was honored to be a part of the ceremony.
He said the ceremonies were crucial to promoting peace. During the ceremony, Prince Masikwamale Zulu met with Malawian leader President Lazarus Chakwera.
Prince Masikwamale Zulu is a prince of the Zulu Kingdom in South Africa. He is now regarded as the eldest son after his elder brother, King MisuZulu.
Prince Masikwamahele Kazwelithini is the son of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini Kabeku Zulu of the Zulu Kingdom and the Regent of the Zulu Royal Palace, Mantefumbi Dlamini Zulu.

KaZwelithini attended various events including the Collen Mashwama Foundation.
He is the leader of many Zulu royal ceremonies, such as the 2022 coronation ceremony.
In his speech, Malawian President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera also spoke highly of the Umthetho ceremony, calling it a model for promoting unity and national development.
Chakwera said the event provided a space for people from different backgrounds to come together and exchange ideas.
He said that is why he attached importance to the event, saying it was a good platform because it allows the country to think about the means and ways to achieve the 2063 Agenda.
He said it was therefore vital that we as a nation express unity while celebrating cultural diversity and all that it brings.
He said it was with the same consideration that the President came to the foothills of Hora Mountain in Mzimba District to join the Ngoni people in the annual Umthetho Cultural Festival which coincided with the 10th anniversary of the accession of King Inkosi Ya Makhosi Mbewa V to the throne.
The President said the festival, like similar events in other cultures across the country, serves as a reminder of the impact of cultural diversity on the country’s socio-economic development.
