Victoria City Terminal (VUT) in collaboration with the School of Photography and Videography of Mauritius (SPVM) is organizing a photography competition to mark World Photography Day All dayTo participate, each candidate must submit a photo in JPEG format taken with a mobile phone or digital camera via the Google Form available on the VUT Facebook page by 11:59 pm on Wednesday 14 August. The competition, open to all Mauritian residents aged 16 or over, aims to encourage creativity and provide a platform for unique perspectives.

Minors must have permission from their parents or guardians to participate. VUT and SPVM employees and their immediate families cannot participate. A jury composed of eminent members of the VUT and SPVM will review the entries based on creativity, relevance to the subject, composition and overall impact. Photographs must be original, unpublished works created solely by the entrant. They must not contain any offensive, illegal or inappropriate content. Excessively edited or overly manipulated photos will be disqualified.

The best three photos from the three categories of mobile phone, amateur digital camera and professional digital camera will be exhibited at VUT from August 19 to 24. Special prizes will also be awarded by the jury. All finalists will receive a certificate of participation, gifts and trophies. The winners of each category will receive a digital photography course and photo editing worth Rs. 25,000 recorded by SPVM.
