Muscat: The Royal Oman Police reported on Tuesday that a child was killed when a vehicle carrying five people was swept away in Wadi Andam on the Izki-Sino road.
According to the ROP, four people were rescued and taken to Ibrah Referral Hospital. Earlier, the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman were hit by heavy rains due to the current low pressure affecting the atmosphere in the Sultanate.
In another incident, the ROP said in an online statement that it had successfully flown two people to a safer location after they became trapped in Wadi Bani Henai.
Meanwhile, authorities reiterated the importance of avoiding crossing river valleys during rains and flash floods and urged parents to remain vigilant and keep an eye on their children during such weather conditions.
