ST. KITTS AND NEVIS (WINN) — On August 5, 2024, officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force conducted operations in the Southeast Peninsula to ensure the safety of revelers traveling to Nevis for the August Monday celebrations.

During a routine stop and search, police seized a loaded firearm and made several arrests.

Police said more details would be provided as the operation continues.

In addition, the traffic department also carried out vehicle inspection operations around Basseterre on the same day, issuing a total of 61 traffic tickets involving various violations.

The details are as follows:

  • Speeding: 31 tickets

  • Driving with dark window tint: 10 tickets

  • Driving an unlicensed vehicle: 7 tickets

  • Identification mark does not comply with regulations: 4 tickets

  • Driving without wearing a proper helmet: 2 tickets

  • Tire defect: 2 tickets

  • Driving with a dark tinted windshield: 2 tickets

  • Driving without a seatbelt: 1 ticket

  • Failure to display driver’s license sticker: 1 ticket

  • Driving without a valid driver’s license: 1 ticket

The police call on all drivers to obey traffic rules to ensure road safety, maintain order and prevent accidents.
