Burkina Faso / Music: Artist Robot Messiah dedicates his second album “Tchapi”

Like the previous one, this new album bears the mark of originality that made this young artist a decorative ambassador of Bobo-Dioulasso and even of the Haut-Bassin region. He knew how to forge a particularity that brought him to the top of Bobo-Dioulasso coupe, and this third album is proof of that. This new album combines tradition and modernity, sung in the coupe-décalé style. It consists of eight songs, sung in several languages, including French, Dioulasso, Moorish and Bissau.

We find among the album titles “Amina”, “Na”, “Je ne can’t leave you”, “Tchapi”, “Coup de fist de Thomas Sankara”, “Tounkalon (feat Cisby)”, “Tilé (feat) Brothers of Badénia)”, “Cacho”. In a unique atmosphere, the artist’s new album was inaugurated on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso. This meeting with the press was also attended by several cultural actors from the city, as well as other artists, who came to support the Robot Messiah.

The second album is a true masterpiece, full of originality and inspiration. Robot Messiah is a young Burkinabe musician, native of Zabre, in the province of Bourgou. In recent years, this talented young artist has become a star of Bobo-Dioulasso. Through his alternative musical style, he has won the trust of a large public. In fact, it all started when he was young, when his love for dance became his passion. From 2008 to 2013, young Guillaume won numerous dance competitions in the town of Sya. He has been a regular in the choreography world since the second grade.

Robot previously campaigned with former academician Mathieu Ilboudo, aka Mathéo et Madino, in the group “La Puissance 3”. This group, supported by the Ivorian cultural actor Petit Wobè, stood out in numerous cultural events. However, with the return of the Ivorian to his homeland and the travels of some of its members, the group no longer exists. Despite this, these difficulties will not slow down the ambitions of this “young musical messiah”. In 2014, Robot the Messiah signed “Leticia”, his first solo single with zouglou musical overtones.

Thus, many songs are born, with different concepts, easy to listen and dance to. Do not forget that in 2017 he won the award for the artist with the most performances in nightclubs in the Upper Basin area at the “Bobo Lolo” honor night. In 2018, he began a musical career commensurate with his talent. He would be retained in this way in several scenes. It was the coronation that he released on March 1, 2019 his first album of six songs, entitled “Inch Allah”. This first record mixes a danceable and soulful voice, all sung in French, diura and moore.

In 2019 he was awarded the “Bobo Lolo d’Or” prize as the best artist in the Haut-Bassin region, an award that recognizes the best artists in the Haut-Bassin region. On March 20, 2021 he managed to fill the 3500-seat theater of the legendary Bobo-Dioulasso Friendship Theater. He is thus the first Bobole Coupe des Garçons artist to do so. Robot Messiah is an artist who also does not go unnoticed on stage, with very good dancers.
