In a study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research, 35.5% of 8,937 respondents reported waking up at least three times a week in the middle of the night, while 23% said they woke up at least once in the middle of the night.

He added that another common reason people wake up in the middle of the night is that their bodies are experiencing an adrenaline rush caused by things like low blood sugar or hormones.

In order to stop waking up in the middle of the night, the first step is to figure out why it’s happening in the first place. If there’s an obvious answer, like you’re stressed or have a stuffy nose, then to some extent that’s good because you know what the cause is.

If not, there’s likely something going on subconsciously or physiologically, so you’ll need to do some digging to get to the root of the problem.
