PARIS — The Canadian Olympic Committee says it has revoked the coaching credentials of six-time Olympic medalist sprinter Andre De Grasse.
The Canadian Olympic Committee said “new information” had come to light about the appropriateness of granting Lana Reade NC status.
The organization said Reid had been on probation with the U.S. Center for SafeSport until May of this year, and the decision to certify him was based on the assumption that he had received no other suspensions or sanctions.
The Canadian Olympic Committee did not specify the nature of the new information but said Reid was only recognized as a personal trainer with access to athlete warm-up and training areas.
The ruling was related to protection concerns and allegations of sexual and emotional abuse, according to British media reports. Court documents filed in Broward County, Florida, show that three women filed lawsuits against Reade there.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and Reade has not been charged with any crime.
