The Dhofar International Expo 2024, a signature event taking place from August 2 to 8, opened on Friday at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Center in Salalah.

This year’s expo was inaugurated by Dr. Mahd bin Saeed Al Bowan, Minister of Labour.

Organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the expo demonstrates Oman’s strong commitment to promoting economic growth and supporting local businesses.

Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities including travel, camping, equestrian sports, marine activities, mountain climbing, motorcycle driving and four-wheel drive off-road adventures.

Highlights of the exhibition included impressive demonstrations of radio-controlled aircraft, paragliding performances, and rescue operations by ambulances and civil defense teams. In addition, the exhibition showcased cutting-edge advances in renewable energy technologies, reflecting Oman’s forward-looking attitude towards sustainable development. The second Dhofar International Exhibition was a huge success, exceeding the organizers’ expectations. This year’s exhibition attracted more than 80 exhibitors from Oman and abroad, twice the number of the first edition.

Khalid al Shanfari, the organizer of the exhibition, said that this significant growth reflects the growing importance of the exhibition as an important economic and cultural event. He added that the choice of the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center as the venue for the exhibition will help attract more exhibitors and provide an ideal environment for establishing business partnerships. The exhibition exhibitors are wide-ranging, including companies from various fields such as industry and services.

Shaikh Naif Fadel, Chairman of OCCI Dhofar Branch, pointed out that the exhibition brings together major investors and companies, providing visitors with a rich and diverse experience.

Sheikh Nayef noted that the exhibition supports the government’s efforts to achieve Oman Vision 2040.
