The Dink Ultimatum – Including Barbison

Lawyer Martin Dingake has issued an ultimatum to the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Electoral Committee to include Tariq Babison in the list of candidates for the BFA National Executive Committee (NEC) position.

Barbison, along with Masego Nchingane, Phadza Butale and Carlos Sebina, recently won an appeal against the Electoral Commission’s decision to disqualify them from the election. Following the victory, the Electoral Commission elected Thapelo Resheng as its chairperson, replacing Moemedi Letina, whose service on the Electoral Commission was ruled illegal by the BFA Electoral Appeals Committee.

After assuming this position, Resheng informed Babitseng, Nchingane, Butale and Sebina that they would be subject to an “integrity test”. This has since been seen as another obstacle to eliminating them from the competition.
