The parties’ election accounts are inflated: huge differences

At least for now, the largest amount of funds was allocated to the parliamentary elections by the Fatherland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD). The party’s election account is nearly 170,000. EUR. The main part of this amount, 150,000. EUR, was allocated from the state budget allocations received by political parties. The rest of the amount was donated by individuals, according to the CEC website. But they are all TS-LKD candidates in the parliamentary elections.

The party also allocated funds to some single-office candidates registered in the CEC system – 6,500 euros each.

The election funds of the Lithuanian Alliance of Farmers and Greens (LVŽS) amount to more than 7 million euros. The largest part of this amount was allocated by the party itself, from state budget allocations received by the party. 715 euros were allocated to the party’s representatives in Parliament and politicians who participated with the party in the municipal council and European Parliament elections.

The election account of the Freedom Movement has nearly 70,000. €. More than 53,000. € was allocated from party funds, 7,000. € was allocated by natural persons, and the remaining amount – almost 9,000. €, was allocated by the candidates themselves from their own funds.

In the election account of the Liberal Party, there are nearly 6.7 million. Euro. The party itself allocated 1.4 million. Euro funds. Individual small donations amounted to more than 4,000. Euro, and nearly 49,000 natural persons allocated Euro. Among them are not only representatives of the Liberal Party itself, but also businessmen.

Among them, businessman Vladas Lašas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lithuanian Business Angels Network LitBAN, donated 350 euros, Rūta Vainienė, Director of the Association of Trade Companies, donated 100 euros, 10,000 euros. Alvydas Barsteiga, founder of the “Camelia” pharmacy, donated 3,000 euros. Martynas Majeris, head of the Solmetra company, allocated 10,000 euros. Rytis Laurinavičius Aleksandras Jonas Gaška, founder and manager of the startup “Omnisend”, allocated 15,000 euros.

In the electoral account of the Democratic Alliance “Vardan Lietuvos” more than 52,000. euros. 19,000 euros were allocated from the state budget allocations received by the party, and another 1500. euros – party funds. The candidates themselves allocated 4 thousand. euros, and the entire remaining amount – almost 28,000 euros. euros were allocated by natural persons in small amounts, and not in a single amount. As in other political parties, funds were allocated by candidates listed in the party’s parliamentary list.

The campaign of the Lithuanian Poles – Christian Family Alliance (LLRA-KŠS) has more than 45,000 euros in its account dedicated to the parliamentary elections. All of it was paid by the party from existing funds.

The electoral figure of the “Nemunos ausra” party exceeds 25,000. euros. So far, the party itself has allocated only 2,000. euros, the remaining amount has all been donated by natural persons. These include the party’s own parliamentary candidates and their relatives.

The election account of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) has exceeded 10 thousand. Euros. 10 thousand is allocated by the party itself from the state budget allocations received, the rest of the amount: donations from candidates or natural persons. The party also allocated 2 thousand Euros to 72 candidates for one term.

The Lithuanian Green Party has 10,000. EUR in its election account. All of this money was allocated by the party’s deputy chairman, Remigijus Lapinskas.

The Lithuanian People’s Party has 706 euros in its election account. All of it was donated by natural persons.

And in the account of the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party – 200 euros, all of which are the party’s own funds.

Other political parties have not provided any data on their fundraising for the congressional elections.

The Central Election Commission noted that the deadline for candidates for future parliamentary elections to submit declaration documents ends this Friday.

According to her, it is until 5 pm on August 9. Fill in the relevant materials and submit them to the CEC information system.

In addition, at the end of the current term, political parties planning to participate in the parliamentary elections can form an alliance and jointly submit a joint list of candidates.

Political parties or alliances that submit lists of candidates in multiple mandate constituencies must submit the lists to the Central Election Commission, which states that the number of candidates cannot be less than 25 and cannot exceed 141.

At that time, a self-nominated candidate running in a single-mandate district must obtain the support of at least 1,000 signatures from voters in a particular district. Candidates can only begin collecting signatures after they submit their declaration documents.

The Central Election Commission pointed out that political parties do not need to collect voter signatures if they put forward candidate lists in multiple electoral districts and single electoral districts.

Lithuania’s parliamentary elections will be held on October 13 this year.
