“Taking into account the anti-Macedonian policy of the Bulgarian government in Albania and facing the aggression of Bulgarian national chauvinism and Nazi-fascism against the denationalization and assimilation of ethnic Macedonians in Albania into ‘ethnic Bulgarians’, we held a meeting where we reviewed all developments, including the latest actions of the representatives of Macedonian companies,” Taqo Grozdani, secretary general of the MAEI, told MIA.
In the conclusion of the declaration, the Central Committee fully supported the leadership of the Party.
“The Central Committee fully supports the leadership of MAEI and strongly condemns the coordinated attacks against the party by different Bulgarian, Albanian and Macedonian organizations, which are aimed at diverting the attention of Albanians and Macedonians worldwide from the common enemy – the Sofia government. “MAEI calls on all Macedonian members of other political parties in Albania to join the only Macedonian party in Albania – the Macedonian Alliance for European Integration,” the conclusion reads.
MAEI called on all Albanian Macedonians living and working outside Albania to unite in order to “defend the Macedonian identity before Albanian government institutions and international organizations for human and civil rights and freedoms.”
“The ethnic Macedonians are loyal citizens of Albania, but they represent an inseparable, indivisible and inalienable part of the Macedonian people as bearers of the Macedonian state. We call on the Macedonian government to take care of the status, rights and freedoms of the ethnic Macedonian community in Albania and develop a long-term national strategy supported by all Macedonian parties, including the government and the opposition. The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration will continue to not interfere in Macedonian political calculations and will not take sides. Introducing some of the conclusions, the party’s chairman, Vasil Stechovski, said that it will institutionally cooperate with all political parties and government institutions in the Republic of Macedonia.

The current members authorized the party chairman to take all measures and to dispute the census data and the Macedonian census works before the Albanian judicial authorities and to refuse to accept the census which is seriously falsified due to numerous irregularities and external influences in the census manipulation”.
The statement, among other things, rejects the preliminary census results of the population census to be held in Albania from September 18 to November 16, 2023, due to “the falsification of the numbers of ethnic Macedonians and Bulgaria’s serious interference in Albania’s internal affairs before that” as well as “the Albanian population” during the census.
“Despite the fact that warnings were constantly issued throughout the year to the public and Albanian government institutions about the obvious preparations for census fraud, we regret the Albanian government’s lack of interest in Bulgaria’s gross interference in the internal affairs of Albania with the aim of assimilating local and resident Macedonians. We regret that the Albanian government did not take steps to protect the rights and freedoms of Macedonians in Albania,” Stechovsky added.
MAEI reminded that Macedonians and other minorities in Albania do not accept the census results and demand a new census in accordance with international standards “because the numbers of minorities are manipulated.”
“In Albania, according to all historical facts and censuses conducted over the years, including the 2011 census, in the regions of Prespa, Golo Brdo, Gora and Vrbnik, which Bulgaria claims to be a Bulgarian minority, there is a people who call themselves a Macedonian minority, the Macedonian people of all the countries of the Balkans have the same folklore, traditions and language, live in a compact area bordering Macedonia, have territorial continuity with the State of Macedonia, have nothing to do with Bulgaria”, one of the conclusions states.
The Albanian Macedonian Party demands a ban on the activities and donations of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Embassy in Tirana and the Bulgarian Foundation in areas where the Macedonian community lives, and demands that the Albanian government give them more care.
This statement will be submitted to the Albanian Parliament, Government, President, National Institute of Statistics and Ombudsman, the Macedonian President, Parliament and Government, as well as to the European Union, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the European Free Association and foreign embassies in Albania.
