Nestor Koudougou, alias Kounest, a Burkinabe living in Uncle Sam’s country, releases his first work, entitled “Chemin de l’Espagne”. A musical project that aims to bring hope and resilience. On August 2, 2024, the artist presented his new work to the press via videoconference simultaneously in New York and Ouagadougou.

It was a rather special devotion that took place in Ouagadougou on August 2, 2024, with the participation of men and women from the media. Nestor Koudougou, known as Kounest, presented his first album via video conference. It is called “The Path of Hope” and is an EP (Extended Play) composed of four tracks. In this work, the artist reiterates his deep attachment to God. It should be remembered that Kounest has been in the service of Christ for many years. He decided to put it in a musical context to distill the message of resilience, solidarity, consolation and faith.

The first title, “This Mountain,” is a declaration of faith. He calls on all who are going through trials not to lose heart. It is a message of hope and resilience. “Mountains (challenges) can be moved. Nothing lasts forever. The trials of life are fleeting things, and with faith and resilience, we can overcome them all,” he declares.

“Wennaam toin fan” is the second stop on the “Way of Hope”. He believes that humans should not be dependent on humans. Only God can elevate us and is our best refuge. He invites everyone to surrender to God. All fellow men, he says, will find themselves in it.

In his first work, Kunest advocates unity and resilience.

The third title, Hymn of Victory, is very close to the artist. It is dedicated in particular to the people of the Alliance for the Sahel States (AES). For these people who are going through difficult times, Kunest tells them that they will be victorious because God is with them. It is also a strong message of support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).

“I Want to Sing” ends the journey of “The Road of Hope”. It is a song of thanksgiving and an invitation to remain in the windings of the Lord. This album is sung in many rhythms, including reggae. Because for him, it is good to open his heart to the world musically, but always drinking from traditional sources is indispensable to better preserve himself.

Next, the artist plans to promote this work by visiting Christian churches in New York and certain states of the United States. The EP was officially released in New York and Ouagadougou in CD format and USB key format. It is also available for download on streaming platforms.
