Joe Biden is set to meet with his national security team on Monday as the United States and Israel prepare for an attack on Iran, which could come as early as Monday, according to the United States and Israel.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin spoke with his Israeli counterpart on Sunday to reaffirm American support for the Jewish state.
Austin and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant discussed how the United States can support Israel’s defense. The meeting also discussed reducing tensions in the region.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel is already at war with Iran and the groups it supports on multiple fronts.
Netanyahu said Israel was prepared for any scenario. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday that Iran and Hezbollah could attack Israel as early as Monday.
General Michael Eric Kurila, chief of staff of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), is also expected to arrive in Israel on Monday.
The United States has also sent more air force personnel and warships to the Middle East amid rising tensions, the largest deployment of U.S. troops since the Gaza war began.
Last week, the leader of Hamas was killed in Tehran and the top leader of Hezbollah was killed in Lebanon. More and more European countries are now advising their citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible, fearing that the confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah will expand into a larger regional conflict.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to bomb the Gaza Strip, which is on the brink of a humanitarian disaster.
Anti-government demonstrations broke out in Israel over the weekend, with tens of thousands of Israelis demanding that Netanyahu reach a deal with Hamas so that the country can release the more than 100 hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
