As part of its efforts to promote domestic tourism in Burkina Faso, the Burkinabe Association for the Emerging Cultural Economy (ABEEC) is organizing a discovery trip to Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso. Although the first edition is aimed primarily at pupils and students, it is also open to any citizen who wishes to discover the wonders of Burkina. The “Cultural and Educational Discovery Trip” will take place from August 16 to 22, 2024. The managers and partners of the ABEEC event announced this at a lively press conference in Ouagadougou on Thursday evening, August 1, 2024.
This edition will have 100 participants. The aim of the tour is to promote domestic tourist attractions by encouraging people, especially young people, to be interested in promoting endogenous values and recovering Burkina Faso’s national heritage. “The week-long trip also aims to encourage, foster and inspire excellence in schools and universities,” said Dramane Kawolobou, president of ABEEC, the main interlocutor of the conference.
To participate, you must pay 30,000 CFA francs (subsidized price) and comply with the event requirements (internal regulations established for this purpose, mainly concerning discipline and behavior during the stay). The participation fee includes the insurance of the registrant. Dramane Kawolobou also described the system established for the safety of participants.
“Information sheets are available for those interested, and children under 18 will require parental authorization,” organizers explained, further clarifying that the minimum age for participation is 15.

In the spirit of strengthening social and national cohesion, the organizers called for possible goodwill sponsorship for internally displaced students so that they can rebuild and strengthen the brotherhood and friendship of living together. “During the outing, the children will also enjoy a variety of educational activities such as board games, general knowledge, etc.” Organizers revealed that the event is full of patriotic spirit. It is also open to all nationalities living in Burkina Faso, because “culture has no borders. The goals are also mixed. »
Participants will depart from Ouagadougou, first participating in the “jump start” ceremony of Mogonaba, then visiting the Transitional Legislative Assembly. The journey to Bobo Dioulasso will include visits to the sacred Sabu crocodile pools and the Houndé mines. In the economic capital, participants will be able to discover several emblematic sites: the Dioulassoba Mosque, banana fields, businesses, etc.

Created in 2019, ABEEC carries out a number of activities within the framework of stabilizing and promoting the socio-cultural values endogenous to Burkina Faso.
