Just now, there was a major turmoil in the men’s decathlon in track and field. Pole vault is the seventh event of the decathlon, but after six events, Canadian player Damian Warner and Norwegian player Sander Skotheim ranked second and third respectively.
Warner is the defending Olympic champion in the event, and Schoeheim won silver at the European Championships in Rome last June. Both are considered likely to finish on the podium in Paris.
That all changed in the pole vault, but they both lowered their starting heights, which meant they received zero points in the event and were out of the decathlon.
