Kabul (Pajhwok): The funeral of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in the Iranian capital Tehran two days ago, was held in Qatar on Friday, according to media reports.
Senior Hamas officials and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also attended the funeral, Al Dawn reported.
Mourners lined up inside the mosque for funeral prayers, while others prayed on mats outside as temperatures reached 44 degrees Celsius.
Haniyeh’s coffin, draped with a Palestinian flag, passed through the mosque in front of hundreds of people along with the coffin of his bodyguard, who was killed in the same attack in Tehran on Wednesday.
