“Bankinter Group thus strengthens its investment banking positioning, placing its financial solutions and advisory capabilities at the service of companies and entrepreneurs in Spain and Portugal,” the agency said.

Bankinter Investment is the coordinating bank for the registered operation of the Green Commercial Paper Program of Greenvolt Energias Renováveis, within the Mercado Alternativo de Renta Fija (MARF) of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME), through which the Portuguese group can diversify and strengthen its sources of financing for the development of its projects.

In addition to coordinating operations, Bankinter Group serves as the entity responsible for issuing the securities, together with Banco Finantia and PKF Attest Capital Markets.

This is the fourth operation in five years for Bankinter Investment to register commercial paper for domestic companies under the Mercado Alternativo de Renta Fija (MARF), having previously led CUF Hospitals, Mota-Engil and Visa Bella, the financial institution said in a statement.

Together, these companies registered commercial paper worth EUR 300 million, diversifying the portfolios of international investors.

“Bankinter Group thus strengthens its investment banking positioning, placing its financial solutions and advisory capabilities at the service of companies and entrepreneurs in Spain and Portugal,” the agency said.

Mercado Alternativo de Renta Fija (MARF) is currently a dynamic market, with strong demand from Spanish and international companies and investors operating on the Spanish Stock Exchange, with €8.02 billion worth of debt issued registered in the first half of this year, up 11.1% from the same period last year.

Joaquim Castro, director of Bankinter Investment, said that with this operation “the Bankinter Group once again supports Portuguese companies in diversifying and strengthening their sources of financing in competitive market conditions and in reducing risks, allowing them to accelerate growth in the implementation of their investment projects”.
