Mayor Earl Trapp withdraws call to expel Patrick Faber from UDP ahead of national party board meeting

As we reported in our top story, Mayor Earl Trapp has sent a letter calling for Patrick Faber to be expelled from the UDP. The bold letter cites Faber’s social media comments that violate a resolution passed at the UDP National Party Council meeting last May. The letter was sent to UDP Chairman Michael Peyrefitte on July 26. Five days later, the letter was rescinded, with Trapp stating that he no longer wants Faber to be expelled. The rescission decision came three days before the next party council meeting scheduled for August 3. The development is curious, as the letter sent last week indicated that Faber’s expulsion was needed in order for the UDP to rid itself of those with ulterior motives within the party who were destroying a party that was already in shambles. Inside sources at our newsroom claim Trapp has been cornered and possibly even threatened, as several senior members of the party have urged Trapp to drop the issue.
