MEMPHIS, Tenn. (LPL) — The Santos Morales family was returning to Memphis from Kentucky when tragedy struck: The car they were riding in was severely struck by another vehicle on Interstate 240 near the Poplar Avenue exit.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, May 29, when a driver driving a Dodge Durango on the wrong side of the highway collided head-on with a Subaru driven by Santos Morales.
The rest were Santos, his wife Magdalena, his son Santos Enrique and the driver of the Durango who died in the accident.
Santos’ niece, Areli Cruz Morales, is organizing a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses and to return the body to Mexico.
