Explaining the news, Colonel Abdullah Jolaki said: The issue was specifically included in the agenda of the Anti-Counterfeiting and Anti-Fraud Department after receiving reports of people distributing fake gold coins in the country’s western province.
He said the authenticity of the report had been confirmed during a special investigation, adding that intelligence and police measures led to the arrest of three main accused, who confessed to the charges during interrogation.
The sleuths found 150 fake gold coins of one gram each while checking their hideout. The arrested accused were also handed over to the jail after issuing due legal orders.
He pointed out that providing fake invoices, fake holographic packaging, displaying original coins and gold to gain the trust of buyers, exchanging fake coins for original coins during transactions, minting gold coins with weights below the standard, and minting coins with fake coins as the main component. The weight is similar to the Ayal standard, but in the form of fake central bank packages, which are the means and tricks used by criminals in this regard.
Colonel Joraki further advised the public in this regard and said: Buy gold articles and coins from reputable and familiar shops with official invoices.
He also pointed out, according to the police news website: Gold shops and bank coin dealers should be careful not to buy such textiles from anyone, and when making purchases, they must receive identification documents, addresses and contact numbers from them. .
