Badi said that the head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Octavio Pineda, could chart a course to identify the most critical areas and be able to intervene directly in those areas, but the situation was worrying because of bureaucratic procedures within the State and within the vulnerable groups, which required an immediate response.
He called on central authorities to start repairing broken riverbanks, especially in the La Mar del Tigre region between Puerto Cortes and Tela, Choloma, Villanueva and in banana plantations around San Pedro Sula.
The representative of the Commission said that if the natural phenomenon takes effect in the coming weeks, “we are all flooded in the Sura Valley, because the boat network has not been repaired so far, there is a will to do so, they have been doing it for two and a half years, but it must be emphasized that no investment has been made and no work has been carried out.” JS
