Vladimir Quesada: “We made corrections, we have shown another side”

He has started playing football; as with any other player, we don’t take risks. He needs to continue playing football and we hope that he will continue to play in the eleven-versus-eleven games. We try to do things well and not make mistakes by rushing.

Well, it was important. We didn’t start the national championship in the best way; we don’t like to lose. We left some doubts before Sporting CP, but we have a very professional team with great players, very supportive and with an incredible work ethic. We made corrections and we have shown another face. We are not 100% yet and I don’t think it can be, because perfection is difficult, but we really want to do our best in the final stages.

-How about Ariel Rodriguez?

Ariel was fine; he had nothing to do with the injury he had sustained. He did not feel the pull, but he felt the contracture. He decided not to continue competing.

-How do you evaluate the victory against ADG?

It was important for us to start the Central American Cup in this way. We are outspoken but no one dares to say it will be easy because ADG plays differently, has good players and is growing as a team. I like Soria’s idea. Before ADG played very directly; now they play more with the ball at their feet, which makes them more difficult and attractive. To score five goals you have to run more than your opponent. Sometimes we felt pain; in the first half we made a decisive intervention, but we won with a big gap and now we want to turn a new page.

-Do you think Javon is at his best moment?

Javon is happy and pleased. He feels appreciated and supported, like the whole team. We have a very brotherly team. Javon is in a great moment; he has a goal, but we also value other things. At that time, Don Carlos Watson highlighted the attitude of Ariel Rodriguez; now I feel that these boys have the support of football. We are happy with Rashid Chirino, Luis Diaz and Javon East because he not only scores, but he runs, he comes to the half court and defends.

-How do you analyse the level of Mariano Torres?

The important thing is that Mariano has more offensive freedom and space. Fortunately, he has the support of players such as Brenes, Guzman, Salas and Fidel.
