Perfume contains 15% to 20% essential oils, while eau de toilette contains 10% to 15%. The different concentrations of the same perfume can be very subtle, but it creates a significant difference between perfume and eau de toilette.
Besides that, perfume has multiple scent dimensions and usually contains multiple types. Depending on the quality of the ingredients, perfume can last from three to five years. On the other hand, eau de toilette loses its intensity both in the packaging itself and when applied to the skin.
Some experts recommend using eau de toilette during the day and perfume at night.
