Have you ever wondered what the difference is between perfume and eau de toilette? Finally, we explain the difference between these two main categories of perfume.

Scent is directly connected to the memory center of our brain. Therefore, when we choose a fragrance, we are also choosing the fragrance that others will remember us by.

It’s no surprise, then, that perfume is considered one of the most personal beauty products. When choosing a perfume, there are many factors to consider: type, price, notes, our preferences, and how a certain fragrance performs on our skin. There are many variables, but one thing is certain: there is a big difference between perfume and eau de toilette.

Toaletna voda vs perfume

The key difference is very simple. Namely, “eau de parfum” contains a higher concentration of fragrance than “eau de toilette”. In the world of perfume, pure perfume is the most concentrated and usually comes in a solid form. Then comes “parfum”, then “eau de toilette”, and finally “cologne”.

Perfume contains 15% to 20% essential oils, while eau de toilette contains 10% to 15%. The different concentrations of the same perfume can be very subtle, but it creates a significant difference between perfume and eau de toilette.

Besides that, perfume has multiple scent dimensions and usually contains multiple types. Depending on the quality of the ingredients, perfume can last from three to five years. On the other hand, eau de toilette loses its intensity both in the packaging itself and when applied to the skin.

Some experts recommend using eau de toilette during the day and perfume at night.

Wearing perfume is a delicate and balanced art that adds a whole new level of fun to self-expression, even without words!
