The fire in Goliburdo near Sutomore covered a large area last night and is still burning. Miodrag Besovic He said the situation was stable this morning and that no buildings were threatened. He said all other ongoing fires in Montenegro were under control.

Besovic said on the show “Good Morning Montenegro” that Goliburdo’s last night was very dramatic.

“The structures were saved and there was no threat. This fire is still active today but this morning we will communicate with the commander in Barr so we will adjust our activities according to the situation, but I hope that the conditions will be better and that due to the weaker winds we will be able to do much more today than yesterday,” he said.

Besovic said the fire department also actively cooperated with the aviation force, dispatched a firefighting aircraft and a helicopter to deploy firefighters to various locations so that they could better take action.

“Last night we also invited the Montenegrin Army, who came to the Radovca region with six trucks and twelve soldiers trained to fight fires. So we have been in contact with all the mayors, calling on them to assist each other, to transfer firefighters from one municipality to another, to help put out the fires in the best possible way,” Besovic said.

He noted that the aircraft extinguished the fire in the territory of Bragic above Budva from the air for three consecutive days.

“Of course, we also used helicopters, so our aircraft were active. Today they will still carry out missions to extinguish fires, reconnaissance of the territory and possibly transfer firefighters from one location to another, so the Mupa Air Helicopter Unit is active and I hope we will be able to continue this work today, considering the weather and the situation. The situation will be a little better in the morning, that is, the wind is weakening”, he said.
