Libreville, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The Chief of Staff, Mr. Willy Giscard Ontsia, chaired on behalf of the Minister of Justice and Lord Chancellor the Privy Seal on Monday, July 29, in Libreville, the National Inequality Survey (ENI).
Mr. Willy Giscard Ontsia, in his recital, thanked everyone for their active participation in this meeting and at the same time wished to recall the importance of this meeting and the theme of the transitional government, as it is not only a question of achieving a better control of inequality.
This poses a major challenge to peace and social justice, but remains a necessary condition for implementing the public policies advocated by the transitional authorities to achieve shared prosperity.
The three-day National Inequality Assessment Survey workshop brought together 35 experts, including five executives from the Inequality Observatory, two representatives from the General Statistics Office, and several technical and financial partners.
The rationale for this round table is that the public authorities must have at their disposal a document containing reliable information on the true extent and precise characteristics of the various inequalities facing Gabon.
Therefore, the transitional authorities are absolutely keen to fill this gap and therefore the convening of this seminar is in line with providing another dimension to the elimination of all inequalities and inequities that are multifaceted and multisectoral. Finally, the fact sheets, manuals and the priority needs of the people will be known.
