Ray doesn’t consider himself a very good time planner. “It’s more useful to have a schedule from time to time than just go with it. That’s what I try to do more when I’m writing songs, I don’t wait for the moment when the spirit comes, I just write it, if it’s bad, it’s bad, if it’s good, I deal with it and get on with it.”

If Ray hasn’t practiced for a long time, such as because of illness, he said it’s sometimes hard to get back in shape. “I have to keep my instrument working every day so that I can use it in concerts as well,” he added.

Ray also arranges, which means writing down which instrumentalist plays what and when. “My favorite instrument is strings, and I write arrangements for them. I have a notation program like Finale, and I open it and start playing them.”

“The song ‘Old Love Won`t Rust’ is now available as a single and comes from two album launch concerts at the Vanemuise and Alexela concert halls at the end of 2022. “We put these two concerts together live-The album will be released in early September,” Ray said.
