“7bet-Lietkabelis” in Panevėžys continues to prepare equipment for the upcoming season – Dominykas Stenionis joins the team.

For the past three years, the 1.79 m tall attacker belonged to Nevėžius-Optibet in Kedainiai, where he played together with another newcomer from the Panevěžs club, Danielis Lavrinović.

In his first season in the Betsafe-LKL Championship (2021-22), Stenionis averaged 4.4 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Over the next two seasons, the injury-plagued basketball player played seven games with the Cordainiai gear.

Previously, the 22-year-old guard played in the doubles for “Žalgiris” Kaunas and achieved his best results in the 2019-20 season. That season he scored 7.4 points, 2.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds in the National Basketball League (NKL).

In each of his three seasons in the NKL, Stenionis has made more than 41% of his three-pointers, making him the best long-range shooter in the 2020-21 season (3rd at 45.3%).

This summer, 2022, the newcomer of “7bet-Lietkabelios” won the silver medal at the European Championship with the Lithuanian U20 national team, and a year earlier he took fifth place at the U19 World Championship.

At Panevěžská, Stenionis will replace the outgoing Nikas Starknis, who used the opportunity to terminate his contract.

Starknis has been with his hometown club for two years and made his debut at the European Championship last season, averaging 1.7 points and 2.5 assists in six games.
