Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny has signed a new contract with the club worth a total of $70 million, the team announced on its official page.
The eight-year contract will take effect from the 2025/26 season and will earn the hockey players $8.75 million per year.
The 27-year-old Konecny’s current contract, signed in 2019, earns him $5.5 million per season.
Last season, the forward led Philadelphia in total scoring with 33 goals, 35 assists and 68 points. With a reduced roster, he also led the NHL in goals with six goals.
Konecny was selected by the Flyers with the 24th pick in the 2015 draft. On his account, he has played in 564 regular season games, with 174 goals and 226 assists for 400 points. In the playoffs, he played in 22 games, contributing 1 goal and 7 assists.
