MEMPHIS, Tenn. (SCSO) — The New Direction Christian Church was transformed into a bustling safety awareness center as the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) hosted a comprehensive traffic safety event on Tuesday, May 25. Families and community members of all ages came together to promote safer driving habits and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly protected. Participating SCSO units included Community Action, DUI, Fugitive and Patrol.
The campaign has three key components designed to educate and protect: Car Seat Checks, Seat Belt Persuaders and CarFit Classes, all using Child Passenger Safety (CPS) mascot Ollie Otter.
