ST. KITTS AND NEVIS (WINN) — A traffic accident in the Needlesmute area early this morning has resulted in the death of New Road Housing resident Shaquan Bridgewater. The accident occurred around 1 a.m. on the island’s main road near Kumar Supermarket.
Emergency crews, including police, ambulance and fire and rescue services, arrived at the scene and found a car lying on the side of the road, facing east. The driver was trapped in the car and was later rescued by firefighters.
Initial reports indicate the vehicle, with license plate number P 6077, lost control while travelling towards Connery and crashed into a concrete wall on the west side of the road.
Bridgewater was taken to JNF Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing. We will release further details as soon as they are available.
