The tranquility of the Highlands was suddenly shattered yesterday Wednesday when Shivanee Devianee Goomany, 36, lost her life in tragic circumstances. Her husband Shailendra Goomany, 38, a salesman, was arrested red-handed by the authorities after the murder.
According to first-hand accounts, Shailendra Goomany acted because his wife refused to resume cohabitation and in an uncontrollable rage, he allegedly stabbed her several times and then knocked her out with a stick. Baby Rose Cary.
Police were immediately dispatched to the scene of the tragedy and multiple units were involved to secure the area and collect evidence. Shailendra Goomany was detained for questioning. According to one of their neighbors, the victim’s father called him and asked him to pick him up from get off work. “He told me that his son-in-law called him and told him that he had killed his daughter. Once there, we found Shivanee’s body and called the police. We covered the body with a sheet and waited for the Phoenix Police Department, Crime Scene Office, Field Intelligence Office, EMS and the Medical Examiner to arrive.”
We understand that the couple has been separated for more than a decade and the Gumanis have a 17-year-old daughter who lives with her mother.
Shailendra Goomany was arrested for murder and the body of Shivanee Devianee Goomany was taken to Victoria Hospital in Khandos where a post-mortem examination was performed by Dr Prem Chamane.
