According to the excerpts, Biden planned to make the decision to end his reelection campaign in an attempt to “defend democracy,” an idea that marked his desire to run in the 2020 election and has dominated his entire term.
“Defending democracy is more important than any title,” Biden will say in a speech due at 8:00 pm local time (00:00 GMT Thursday).
