British election campaigns are usually elaborate. They are short and intense: the official campaign lasts only a few weeks, while American campaigns take about a year. There are two stages of the campaign: before the party manifesto is released and after it is released. Before the manifesto is released, politicians will avoid those annoying interviewers by saying “You have to wait until we release the manifesto to answer.” After the manifesto is released, they will avoid those annoying interviewers by saying “It’s all in the manifesto.”
