Elon Musk, owner of US electric car maker Tesla, has announced that the company will launch a humanoid robot for internal use next year.
Musk posted on his X account: “Next year Tesla will be producing truly useful humanoid robots at low volumes for internal use, and we hope to be producing them in larger quantities for other companies in 2026,” he said.
Musk said in April that the Tesla robot, named Optimus, could be working at factories by the end of this year and ready for sale by the end of 2025.
The prototype of the humanoid robot Optimus was launched in 2022.
