Eight uninvited guests were taken to court after they jumped over the fence instead of paying at the gate.
They appeared before Magistrate Joy-Ann Clarke in District C District Court on Monday and were charged with wanton entry. Vitinjouvit Events Bushy Park Mario Turton dominated the Bushy Park track in St. Philip this weekend.
Each of them, ranging in age from 16 to 25, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass.
Security guards employed by Turton to organize the celebrations were responsible for ensuring people entered through designated entrances and that everyone was given a T-shirt and a wristband.
However, those who decide to enter will face the wrath of the law.
Blackman told the court that in each incident, security officers received information about the breach of protocol. They went to other unofficial entrances and saw young people climbing over fences. Once inside the venue, they ran towards where patrons were but were chased, detained and handed over to police.
The activity began Saturday night. By 2:48 a.m. Sunday, two teens — Teshone Ricardo Omari King, 16, of 3rd Avenue, Parris Gap, Seabury Road, and Demetri Orlando Rogers, 17, of Pickwick Gap, Seabury Road — were first captured, both in St. Michaels.
Twenty-two minutes later, two more people were detained, Meleke Shaquon Chase-Mapp, 20, of Bank Hall, Buckingham Road, and Matthew Daniel Blackman, 22, of Hindsbury Road, Hinxon Gap, both in St. Michael.
Around 5:20 a.m., the last group tried to get into the party for free. They were 19-year-old
Dravid Antonio McConney, of Liverpool Road, Brittons Hill, Shakim Ricardo Thomas, 20, of Block 4, Dalkeith Woods, and Demario Reberto Moore, 25, of Breacon Road, Grazettes, all of St Michael. The final man who attempted to sneak across was Renikko Akobi Lyte-Griffith, 20, of Marchfield, St Philip.
Magistrate Clark released them on $2,500 bail each and ordered them to return to court Friday to meet with their probation officers.
