Tivat police arrested a citizen of Montenegro wanted by Interpol.
“Officers from the Interpol anti-crime unit in Podgorica (FAST team), in cooperation with officers from the security services in Tivat, conducted a coordinated targeted search to locate and arrest NR, who is wanted at national and international levels,” announced the head of the Police Department (UP).
NR is suspected of being part of an organized criminal group whose members are being prosecuted at the High Court in Podgorica, among whom is former President of the Supreme Court VM
“He is wanted on suspicion of criminal offences of smuggling and criminal offences of bribery to ensure his participation in the ongoing criminal proceedings at the High Court in Podgorica,” police said.
He was taken to the Special State Prosecutor’s Office within the statutory period.
“The Anti-Crime Unit continues to carry out planning activities aimed at locating internationally wanted individuals, focusing primarily on members of organised crime groups, with an emphasis on targeted searches for those for whom international arrest warrants have been issued,” police said.
