The schedule for the first two days of the Paris Olympic badminton competition has been released.

In women’s doubles, Gabriela and Stefanie Stojever will make their third Olympic appearance starting on the first day of competition on July 27.

The three-time European champions will face another pair of sisters, Yee-Yun Nga-Tian and Yee-Yun Biao-Lin from Hong Kong. The Group B match starts at 15:00 our time. If successful, the Bulgarian team of current coach Petya Nedelcheva-Hranova will take a big step towards continuing to the direct knockout stage.

On Sunday, July 28, Stowe will face group leaders Liu Shenshu and Tang Ning from China. The top two pairs from each of the four groups advance to the Olympic quarterfinals. The final pair in Gabriella and Stephanie’s group is Annie Xu and Kerry Xu from the United States.

“Every competition is important, these are the Olympics. We are well prepared and hope for a good result,” said Gabriela Stoeva of BNR.

Newcomer Kaloyana Nalbantova also begins competition in the women’s category on July 28. The 18-year-old Stilijan Makarski graduate will compete in Group A against world number one An Se-yeon of South Korea.

The Bulgarians’ lineup also includes naturalized Chinese player Kishufi, who represented France. Only the winner will advance to the round of 16.
