Two young women were taken to the hospital in critical condition after an electric scooter collided with a car in Sunneville Tuesday afternoon.

According to preliminary information, a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old man were riding a motorcycle eastbound on Senneville Road when they collided with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

Montreal police received a 911 call just before 5 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, was not injured and remained at the scene to help, said Sabrina Gauthier, a spokeswoman for the SPVM.

A cordon was set up on Sunnyvale Road and investigators from the SPVM Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
