Filipino woman pleads not guilty to drug possession charges

Apia, Samoa – July 22, 2024 – Filipino woman Arianne Fae Timblique pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing drugs and illegal ammunition.

The police summary of facts states that the defendant departed from American Samoa on July 6, 2024 and entered Samoa via Faleolo International Airport.

Upon arrival at the airport, her luggage was scanned and found to contain illegal items.

According to police, the defendant “knowingly possessed drugs, namely four small transparent plastic bags containing methamphetamine weighing 0.83 grams.”

She was also found in possession of illegal ammunition, namely 44 Rem Mag and Super Ammunition.

She is a resident of the Philippines and also lists Nu’uuli, American Samoa, and Matautu, Apia as residents.

She was remanded in custody on the condition that she surrender her travel documents to the court clerk and sign for duty at police headquarters twice a week until a hearing in December 2024.

She is represented by attorney Sine Lafaiali’i Koria.
