Content creator and talent manager Ogie Diaz expressed his feelings in a viral post regarding a waiter who was allegedly punished by a customer for calling him “Sir.”
The post went viral on Facebook, with one Facebook user complaining that the member of the LGBTQIA+ community made the waiter stand for nearly two hours because he addressed him as “sir” when he should have addressed him as “ma’am”.
Netizens pulled up the customer, Jude Bacalso, and said hurtful things. He said that although he felt the waiter had wronged him, he had no right to punish the waiter.

Instead, the viral customer responded and stressed that he did not punish the waiter and never yelled at him or threatened him.
“I had a series of blunders with the restaurant staff. Yes, they addressed me as ‘sir’. No, I did not yell at the waiter who addressed me as ‘sir’.
“My students call me sir, my nephews and nieces call me uncle, so it’s none of my business, and I find it hilarious that transphobic people seem to think I’m bitter about it.
“I’m used to being misgendered, and if it was an unintentional mistake, I would take it as an opportunity to educate myself,” said social media personality Matud Pa Sa Maong.
“Did the employee stand there for hours? Yes, we were waiting to resolve the issue with the boss. Did I ask him to stand there as a punishment? No. The supervisor was present when I discussed with the employee who made the mistake that perhaps a gender sensitivity workshop would be beneficial for them,” niingon pa gyod siya.
