The singing field is preparing to host the world’s best disc golf | Disc Golf

Construction of the track for the European Disc Golf Festival began on Saturday in Lauluväljak, Tallinn, and athletes were able to try it out on Monday morning. “What is most special about this is that this track or this competition is held in the heart of the capital. We are in the city center area. You don’t have this luxury anywhere else in the world,” organizer Matthias Vutt told ERR.

“In Copenhagen, the race was also held in a park, but that was an open area, different. That’s the main reason why we held this race here in the first place, besides the high level of organization. But there are simply no other parks like this in the center of the capital,” added the organizer.

Since this is a stage on the Pro Tour’s Elite Series, the course itself is pretty difficult. “It’s very technical, it’s got a lot of areas where the puck can fly out, so you can get penalized. There’s wind here, which makes things difficult, and we actually built in some interesting height differences here,” Wutt said. “It’s something different.”

The course is also quite extraordinary. The organizers are particularly proud of the first tiiala, which is located just below the singing arch, from where the Frisbee must fly up the hill.

“The course will be about 260 meters long, the basket will be located next to the Ernesaca statue, and as we ourselves said, this is the most intense first tee in the world,” organizers said. “You can’t hear what the players are saying, and we hope that our verdict will be spread somewhere.”

Most of the nearly 150 contestants arrived over the weekend from Finland, where the European Open was held. Kristin Tattar won the championship and, of course, will appear on the singing stage this weekend.
