A serious accident occurred in Harghita County. A car carrying five people overturned in a ravine, killing one of the passengers. A woman was seriously injured and was rescued by a SMURD helicopter.
The accident occurred on Pasul Caşin – Nyerges, DN11 B, where the road winds through the forest. There were five people on the bus, aged between 55 and 73, all from Maramureş.
It is not clear why the driver lost control while turning and the car left the road and rolled from a high altitude into the woods. When rescuers arrived, a passenger in the back seat was dead. The wife was seriously injured and trapped in the car. They called a helicopter to take her to the hospital.
The other three passengers in the car were conscious and were rescued by a vehicle carrying multiple people. Mountain rescue support is needed so that medical personnel can go down the mountain to treat the injured.
