Libreville, Sunday, July 21, 2024 (Gabon News) – The Transitional President began a five-day visit to the Haut-Ogoué province last Wednesday, visiting the towns of Onga, Aboumi and Okondja on Friday.
In these places, he had fruitful exchanges with people who previously welcomed him with cheers and enthusiasm in the presence of celebrities, and even those who rarely traveled and had even disappeared from the radar screen.
In Onga, capital of Djoue province, the head of state visited the site of the Future Institute and saw the progress of work before the radio and television launch. He handed over a cheque for 310 million CFA francs to allow the town hall to continue with the urgent project.
In the town of Abumi, General Brice Clotel Origi Nguema launched the construction of the local future high school, as well as a drinking water pumping station and an electricity network.
Likewise, the Commission for Institutional Transition and Restoration (CTRI) will rehabilitate the Alanga-Abili road through military engineering, the commission will also renovate public schools in Abume, Oboli and Ontogo-Yoma, develop urban roads, and then proceed with the commissioning of hydraulic pumps in Kolo and Bayi states.
He presented a cheque for 268 million CFA francs to the Abumi municipality to complete roads and emergency projects.
In the town of Okondja, a resistance fighter, he laid the first stone of the “Gabon Oil” service station, which will include: a hotel, a shop and an area for parking cars and other heavy goods vehicles. It is planned to provide many jobs to curb youth unemployment.
He also spoke to the elite of the Sebé-Brikolo department, in particular Jean-Pierre Lemboumba and Paul Toungui. The latter are becoming increasingly rare among all-round figures in the republic. But the transitional president attracted them.
General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema, before leaving Okonja, inaugurated the city’s new health centre and presented Marie with a cheque for 340 million CFA francs to re-start road works and create production units for the well-being of the people.
Okonja Departmental Hospital
The Okonja Provincial Hospital, which has a total cost of 1 billion 501 million CFA francs and was inaugurated on Friday by Brigadier General Brice Clotel Origi Nguema, in the presence of Professor Adrian Mugugu, the Minister of Health, as part of a loan agreement signed with the French Development Agency (AFD).
It is a modern infrastructure equipped with technical equipment for medicine, neonatology, analytical laboratories and operating rooms.
