The rally was opened by Ohio Senator and vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, who attacked President Joe Biden’s border policies and expressed support for Donald Trump’s protectionist trade policies.
The Republican candidate and former US president reiterated that Democrats allow immigrants to enter the United States illegally so that they can still vote in elections, but as The New York Times wrote, this accusation is baseless.
In his speech, Donald Trump once again stated that he had nothing to do with the so-called “2025 Plan” promoted by the far-right Heritage Foundation, which proposed a roadmap for a radical change of government in North America.
Regarding Joe Biden, who is running again for the White House leadership, Donald Trump once again criticized the US President’s health, calling him “a sick, weak, pathetic person who is not in a position to run for president.”
On the Democratic side, while Joe Biden is recovering from Covid-19, the presidential campaign continues, with Vice President Kamala Harris at a fundraiser in Provincetown, Massachusetts today.
Trump’s rally was held in Michigan, which, according to the Associated Press, is a key state in the November presidential election. In the 2016 election, Donald Trump won by a slight margin of more than 10,000 votes over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, but in the 2020 election, Joe Biden defeated Trump by 154,000 votes.
