Kuwait City, July 20: Four persons accused of importing drugs for trafficking, a crime that carries a possible death penalty, have been referred to the Public Prosecution. The General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Coast Guard arrested the suspects who were trying to smuggle 160 kg of marijuana by sea. The arrests were made following a tip-off and approval from the Public Prosecution.
In another incident, a security source said they had foiled a large-scale liquor smuggling operation through the port of Shuvekh. The Interior Ministry will release a detailed statement on the seizure once the investigation is concluded and all those involved are arrested.
