EasyJet’s invasion of Norway continues into the winter. But at some point it raced a little too fast around the bend.
Low-cost company Easyjet was founded less than a month ago A foreshadowing of a major adventure to Norway. Subsequently, Orange Airways launched seven new routes to Tromsø, while Oslo gained two new destinations.
On Wednesday, easyJet announced news of two new routes to Oslo and, primarily, a new route to Egypt in a press release aimed at British media.
“The company will also launch two new routes to the Norwegian capital of Oslo, departing from Manchester from November 15 and from Liverpool from November 29,” the company wrote before continuing, also referencing last month’s news on the route to the UK.
“Both routes will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays throughout the winter, so customers can plan a trip before Christmas or go skiing,” the company wrote in a message.
Flysmart24 First, let’s talk about the new routes.

Football leaves the field
But the timetable soon showed that this was only partly correct. Manchester will continue to operate twice a week until the end of March next year. For Liverpool, however, the story is quite different.
The company only operates four flights between Oslo and Liverpool during the winter season. Fridays: November 29, December 2, January 3 and January 6.
Easyjet press contact Lottie Phillips confirmed in an email to E24 that the route will only operate four times. It happens to meet extra demand on routes related to football matches.
Around the given dates, Liverpool’s matches against Manchester City (November 30) and Manchester United (January 4) are currently the football matches of interest.
The press contact informed E24 that the route was not allowed to run more than four times during the winter season, but that this was a “registration error” and the communication was “not updated” before the press release was sent out.

Additional routes
At the same time, E24 also confirmed the news of Easyjet’s new routes.
“In addition to our routes from Manchester and Liverpool, I can confirm that we have also announced a new route from Oslo to Geneva which will commence on 4 November and will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays,” Phillips wrote.
The company has announced a total of 11 new seasonal routes from Norway to European cities in a matter of weeks. It has also added a “football route” to Liverpool.
